ROMEO club is established.

1962

Originally nameless, it is formed by members of the State House Press Association and meets initially at the Au Buchon restaurant on Mount Vernon Street. it subsequent name is an acronym for Retired Opinion Makers Eating Out. Membership is extended to other journalists and local politicians and it subsequently meets at various downtown restaurant. After falling into abeyance, the club is revived by former Boston Herald reporter Bob Hanon and begins meeting monthly at F.J. Doyle’s in 1986. Its last regular meeting is held on June 14, 2019.
